Greenwich Family YMCA Elects James Hoffman as new Chairman of the Board of Directors

The Greenwich Family YMCA Board of Directors elected James Hoffman to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors at its last meeting, replacing Harry E. Peden III.  The YMCA’s Board also welcomed two new board members: James Cabrera and Dan Jurkowitz, both Greenwich residents.

Harry E. “Harry’s loyalty, commitment, and leadership of the Y at a pivotal time in its development has been very much appreciated,” said Hilary Pearl, chairperson of the Nominating Committee.

A long-time athlete with a focus on football and lacrosse, Dan serves as a board member of the Greenwich Youth Football League (GYFL) and a coach of the Lacrosse (GYL) League.  Dan grew up in Worthington, Ohio, where he was involved in a big/brother big/sister program at the local YMCA.  “I look forward to giving back to the YMCA and the local community after having been helped so much by the Y as a young boy,” said Jurkowitz.   “We are so pleased to have these wonderfully talented and committed volunteers join our board,” said
John Eikrem, YMCA President and CEO.  “They will be assets to our organization,” Eikrem said.
