What Is TAG?
Transportation Association of Greenwich, Inc. - TAG - is a private, not-for-profit specialized transportation service for the frail elderly and disabled of all ages. Founded in 1984, TAG’s service is critical to individuals, organizations and numerous social service agencies.
Who uses TAG?
Senior citizens and disabled residents of all ages rely on TAG for their transportation needs. TAG travels more than 225,000 miles yearly providing over 100,000 individual rides. Over 900 individuals depend on TAG’s modified vans equipped with wheelchair lifts, special doors, and two-way radios.

Where Do TAG Vans Go?
TAG vans criss-cross Greenwich and its neighboring communities picking up and delivering riders. Clients use TAG to go to employment sites, medical and other human service appointments, and recreation. Among the agencies that contract for TAG’s services are the Association for Retarded Citizens, Greenwich Adult Day Center, the Board of Education, YMCA after school child programs, and social service agencies.

How Much Does TAG Cost?
TAG is not a free service. Specialized door-to-door transportation is expensive to operate. As a not-for-profit, TAG holds its fees as low as practical. A two zone fare structure is used.

How Is TAG Funded?
TAG relies heavily on donations from people like you, from Friends of TAG, Greenwich area business, the United Way and special grants. Passengers pay only a part of the operating costs. The operating deficit as well as the considerable capital cost of replacing vans, comes from donations and community wide fund-raising events.
