Recycling Used Cell Phones Reduces Your Carbon Footprint

Cell Phones continue to be collected for recycling in Greenwich. This is an easy way to reduce your carbon footprint.  By keeping recyclables out of the trash - you reduce trash to be hauled by truck, burned into ash, hauled by truck again, and buried in a landfill.

The challenge of reducing your carbon footprint is to offset the amount of carbon you release into the atmosphere.  For every mile you drive, you can do something to protect or improve the environment - walk or bike, plant a tree, turn off a light, buy recycled products, choose products with minimal packaging.

Bring old/broken cell phones On May 20th to the Audubon Spring Fair, or

Recycle old cell phones at Holly Hill, New England Cleaners, Academy Video in Greenwich; MinuteMan Cleaners in Cos Cob; Verizon Wireless store in Riverside; SoundView Exxon, James Wong Laundry, Perrot Library and Village Barber in Old Greenwich.

Used / Broken phones and accessores will be recycled and/or refurbished for use as 911 phones and resold in emerging countries - keeping toxins, metals and batteries out of the trash.
