TEACHER ALERT! Two training sessions on “Plants and Me!” activities for K-6 educators planned at GEC March 14 & 21, 3:30-6:30pm

GEC horticulturist Lisa Beebe teams with Town of Greenwich Conservation Director Denise Savageau to offer this two session workshop on plant science basics. The curriculum includes plant anatomy,propagation,soil and composting, and is designed to complemet existing science curriculum objectives. While focus will be on grades K-6, most activities are ADAPTABLE TO ALL GRADE LEVELS! Demonstrated activities will include “Seed Surprises”, “From Apple Core to Healthy Soil”, “Buzzy Buzzy Bee”. Bonus treat: personal tour of greenhouse led by Lisa Beebe!

Participants receive a copy of the national environmental education curriculum aid Project Food, Land and Peopleactivity guide. Teachers receive CEUs. NOTE: Participants must attend both sessions to receive materials and CEUs.

Cost of both sessions is $35 and includes all materials. All classes will be held at the Garden Education of Greenwich located at the Montgomery Arboretum in Cos Cob.
